The Bobbie Overalls
Pattern Tester Application

We are calling for pattern testers to test our Bobbie overalls pattern for women.

PATTERN INFO:

The Bobbie overalls are a timeless wide subtle barrel leg garment with a bib and brace design.

The intended design includes:
+ A comfortable fit with enough ease to tuck in a light sweater
+ A slightly dropped waist bib
+ A wide subtle barrel leg shape
+ A shaped seat - no saggy bum overalls thanks!
+ Side seam that sits slightly forward and wraps around the front leg.

The pattern also features:
+ A bib and brace design making the garment adjustable
+ A double bib pocket
+ A back yoke design
+ Diamond back straps design

SIZING

The pattern comes in a wide size range of from
Centimeters: B 75, W56, H81 - B155, W136, H161
Inches: B 29.5, W22, H31.9 - B61.1, W53.6, H63.2

Take a measurement around your fullest bust, your waist and your full hip. Find these measurements on our measurement chart to see what size/s you fall into.

If your measurements fall into different sizes that’s okay! You can do one of the following:

Option 1: Choose one size after referencing the finished garment measurements.

Option 2: Blend between sizes. For example if you are a size B waist but a size C hip, you can draw a line from the size B waist to the size C hip to merge those 2 sizes. If you’re blending sizes be sure that any panels that get sewn together are the same size at the seam.

We have provided a finished garment measurement chart with many different measurements so you can assess the intended ease when choosing a size, especially if you fall between sizes or if your body measurements fall into different sizes on the body measurement chart.

PLEASE NOTE: The Bobbie overalls were originally made for a height of 164 cms. Consider this when making your own. You may need to do a height & torso adjustment. Additionally, everyones bodies are different so you may also need to make some adjustments at the crotch/bum area. See the ‘Adjustments’ page of the instructions for more information.

For the best results we recommend sewing a toile (tester version) to ensure the fit is exactly as you like before cutting into your good fabric!

Main fabric:

The Bobbie overalls have been designed for medium - heavy weight woven fabric. Fabrics that will work beautifully are denim (we like to work with non stretch), canvas, twill and corduroy.

Our favourite Bobbie overalls are in heavy weight denims but keep in mind that the heavier the fabric the more challenging it will be in bulky spots where there are many layers of fabric!

Lining fabric:

We recommend using a light weight woven fabric that has some structure to it. You can ofcourse use any woven fabric for the lining however we find that fabrics such as cotton poplin, shirting, quilting cotton or similar produce a clean result.

You can go for a fun patterned lining or a matching lining to your main fabric. If you do choose to go with a patterned or contrasting lining take care to ensure it can not be seen from the right side.

Interfacing:

We recommend a weft fusible interfacing to reinforce a number of panels if using a fabric of 10 oz or less. A woven interfacing will work too (be sure to cut it on the grain!)

Match the weight of the interfacing to the weight of your fabric.

Our aim is to make all our patterns simple and understandable enough for even beginners to use. To do this we provide step by step instructions and try to break down the process and hold your hand through it. Due to this, the testing call is open to all levels of sewing and we greatly appreciate feedback on how well the instructions guided you.

We rate the pattern itself as an intermediate pattern. It includes many pattern pieces, bottom weight fabric and a range of construction methods.

The pattern is supplied as a large format A0 PDF file, a print at home PDF and in a projector format PDF.

3 Week testing period: Thursday February 26 - Thursday March 12.

As a huge thank you to our chosen testers you will of course be supplied a finalised Bobbie overalls pattern free as well as a pattern from our store, of your choosing.

Thank you for your application and we are so grateful for your support. We will be in touch shortly to let you know if you have been successfully chosen to test this pattern.
