The Andi Skirt Pattern
Tester Application

We are calling for pattern testers to test our Audi skirt pattern for women.

PATTERN INFO:

The pattern comes in a wide size range of from
Centimeters: B 75, W56, H81 - B155, W136, H161
Inches: B 29.5, W22, H31.9 - B61.1, W53.6, H63.2

We recommend choosing the size that best fits your waist measurement. We have provided a finished garment measurement chart so you can assess the intended ease when choosing a size, especially if you fall between sizes or if your body measurements fall into different sizes on the body measurement chart.

PLEASE NOTE: The Andi skirt was originally made for a height of 164 cms. Consider this when making your own. You may need to adjust the length of the skirt.

For the best results we recommend sewing a toile (tester version) to ensure the fit is exactly as you like before cutting into your good fabric!

FABRIC:

Warmer weather > Lightweight woven fabric.
Cooler weather > Medium weight woven fabric.

A fabric with more drape (linen, cotton linen blend, viscose etc.) will result in a flowier skirt with more movement.
A fabric with a more structured drape (cotton shirting, cotton poplin, cotton twill etc.) will result in a more structured and voluminous skirt with less movement.
We love both looks!

If you are a beginner sewist, we recommend using fabric that doesn’t have a very open weave as they are a bit more challenging to work with due to the amount they can stretch (such as 100% linen, muslin and gauze). We suggest using a cotton or a cotton blend.

INTERFACING:

We recommend a weft fusible interfacing to reinforce the front of the traditional waistband. A woven interfacing will work too (be sure to cut it on the grain!)
Match the weight of the interfacing to the weight of your fabric (if you are using a lightweight fabric, use a lightweight interfacing... if using a medium weight fabric, use a medium weight interfacing).

Our aim is to make all our patterns simple and understandable enough for even beginners to use. To do this we provide step by step instructions and try to break down the process and hold your hand through it. Due to this, the testing call is open to all levels of sewing and we greatly appreciate feedback on how well the instructions guided you.

We rate the pattern itself as an adventurous beginner pattern. It includes french seams, french pockets, gathering (traditional waistband), applying a hem facing and applying a seperate waistband.

The pattern is supplied as a large format A0 PDF file, a print at home PDF and in a projector format PDF.

There are 2 views provided in this pattern.

VIEW A: 2 panelled skirt, 1 front panel and 1 back panel that are cut on the fold.
VIEW B: 4 panelled skirt, 2 front panels and 2 back panels that are cut mirrored and sewn together with a top stitching detail.

Both views come with a wide hem, with the view B hem being slightly wider.
Both views can be made with one of two waistband options:
Traditional waistband: A traditional waistband on the front with an elastic waistband on the back. You get the classic look plus the comfort and flexibility.
Elastic waistband: An elastic waistband the whole way round for a more casual look.

2 Week testing period: Monday September 8 - Monday September 22..

As a huge thank you to our chosen testers you will of course be supplied a finalised Andi skirt pattern free as well as a discount code for our store.

Thank you for your application and we are so grateful for your support. We will be in touch shortly to let you know if you have been successfully chosen to test this pattern.
